Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow,is Nightlord of the Expedition,Darkdrift KnightinElden Ring Nightreign. He is an ancient Centaur and easily one of themost difficult Nightlords, if not the hardest in the game. The combination of his hard-hitting, delayed attacks forces players to understand dodge timings precisely.
Fulghoralso has a second phase that makes him more aggressive. He introduces a new attack capable of wiping out the entire team and sending them back to the expedition table. This guide covers the Nightlord’s weaknesses and the best strategies to defeat him inElden Ring Nightreign.
Phase 1
Dragging Sweep
Fulghor drags his weapon across the ground before striking the player.
Striking Gale
Wind starts to form around the boss’s weapon, and he strikes forward, letting out a gush of air. The boss can perform multiple Gale attacks.
Leaping Slam
Fulghor leaps into the air and slams down his weapon, dealing damage in the surrounding area if the player is nearby.
Golden Empower
The boss takes a stance where he starts to empower his weapon. Shortly after, he slams it into the ground, causing golden lances to erupt from below, targeting all players.
Relentless Charge
Fulghor starts charging around the arena multiple times, leaving behind a trail that explodes after a few seconds. After three charges, he slams his weapon down, covering the area ahead in golden dust that detonates shortly after.
Phase 2
Arm Emergence
After losing around 50% health, the boss will pull out his left clawed arm.
Claw Combo
Fulghor uses his left arm to swipe in a wide arc.
Claw Descend
The boss rises high into the air and slams his clawed arm into the ground, damaging everyone in a massive area.
Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow Weaknesses
Fulghor’s primary weakness is Lightning-based attacks. This means you should prioritizeacquiring weapons with a Lightning affinityand a strong Lightning skill. As with every other weapon in the game, acquiring them can be tricky since locations are randomized, and you’re able to only hope to get them during your Expedition.
However, to be safe, you can always equip a Relic that gives your starting weapon Lightning damage.
Aside from Lightning damage,Fire and Magic deal normal damage, but avoid using Holy at all costs, as it is the least effective against Fulghor. He also has an equal chance of beinginflicted with Poison, Rot, Bleed, Frostbite, and Sleep, so bringing weapons with these effects can give you an additional edge alongside your Lightning damage.
General Strategy For Darkdrift Knight In Elden Ring Nightreign
An important part of this boss fight is understanding how to avoid Fulghor’s attacks and the delay timings between each strike and slam. With proper communication, Fulghor can be a relatively manageable boss. Most of his attacks, like the Striking Gale or Leaping Slam, are deadly because they can hit the entire party. The gale from the first attack travels a long distance, so players must avoid standing behind a teammate who is being targeted.
Melee characters can try staying near Fulghor’s rear, but he tends to move around after each strike.
Perhapsthe most dangerous and annoying attack in Fulghor’s kit is the Golden Empower, where he starts to charge up his weapon. During this attack,if you attack the boss, rings will appear around you, slowing you down and hindering your roll speed, making it hard to dodge the lance attack that comes right after. There are two ways to deal with this attack: The first is wherenone of you attack during the animation, and simply dodge the lance that comes piercing from the ground. This method allows you to play safely and rely on your dodge timings. The second method involves dealing enough Lightning damage to the boss that his animation interrupts.
Though normal Lightning attacks will work, you will have to deal a lot of damage before Fulghor is interrupted, so it is better to rely on Lightning weapon skills like theLightning Slashor theThunderbolt. These attacks have a very high chance of immediately staggering the boss, giving you a few seconds to get more damage in before he gets back up.
With the start of the second phase, the boss will pull out his left claw arm, which adds a few attacks, all of which deal a lot of damage, especially theClaw Descend. Timing your dodge for that slam attack is a must; otherwise, you willlose a lot of your health, which is not ideal.
If you can manage to get close to the boss and dodge this slam, you can get a few hits in as the boss takes a few seconds to recover from this attack.
Whenever the boss starts to charge around the arena, attempt to roll to the side to avoid the initial charge, then look at where the trail is and run in the opposite direction to avoid taking damage from the explosion that follows shortly.
Best Team Composition For Fulghor In Elden Ring Nightreign
For the team composition, the first two picks should be Wylder and Ironeye. Both of these Nightfarers have base abilities that let them move around the arena quickly and retreat in case of a slam attack or the Golden Charge.Ironeye’s markis important, particularly if he has the Relic that grants an additional dash, allowing the mark to stay on the boss longer and guaranteeing a stagger.
If a teammate is downed and the boss isn’t targeting Ironeye,he can quickly revive them from afar. Wylder, on the other hand, has apowerful stagger on his Ultimate, deals bonus damage, and ifequipped with the right Relic, spreads fire, making him a must-pick.
The third pick is flexible. Executor is a strong option with Relics that give his starting weapon Lightning damage, and his Katana can also proc Bleed.Raider is another excellent choice due to his high damage from jumping heavy attacks with Colossal weapons. Even if the team lacks a reliable way to break Fulghor’s Golden Empower, Raider can simply land a jumping heavy attack with a Lightning weapon to interrupt the boss.
