Just one day after the start of that advanced access period on PC, the developers ofDune: Awakeningreleased patch 1.1.0.5, which is mostly centered around repairing some unspecified stability issues.Dune: Awakeningreached a huge player milestoneof more than 93,000 concurrent players on June 5, and while it’s currently holding very positive ratings on Steam, some players have issued complaints about crashes, long server queues, and other performance issues. The patch notes also state that the update comes with a pop-up warning for players who try to play the game on private servers, which notifies them that private servers are managed by third-party providers, not Funcom.

Along with the non-specific upgrades to performance, the patch notes also highlight a selection of bugs that have been addressed. One of the biggest issues has to do withbase building inDune: Awakening. Some players have been reporting issues with placeable objects failing to load in the base building menu if they switched between tabs too quickly, but that issue has reportedly been resolved. Other problems that have been addressed include NPCs becoming stuck in place in the Arrakeen Social Hub, players getting trapped in the Testing Station #002 boos room, and players receiving recommendations for servers that were not the closest to them in proximity.

While some players continue to report graphical issues and long wait times, many are giving Funcom the benefit of the doubt for now, acknowledging that the game doesn’t even make its official full launch until June 10. Common themes among the game’s positive reviews includeDune: Awakening’s sandworm attacks, which players feel accurately depict the source material’s harsh world, along with its engaging survival game mechanics, challenging combat, and intuitive base-building system.
