Dune Awakening Each Edition Compared
To start comparing betweenDune: Awakeningeditions, there’s an important subject to address, which is pricing. Each edition comes with a price tag, and here are the values of all three different versions of the game:
Every edition ofDune: Awakeningcomes with the base game, which is a given, but then there are a few extra goodies added with all of the editions: The Terrarium of Mua’Dib (an ornamental object for the base), and the Sunset Dye Global Swatch (a dye for clothing/armor). Now, the Deluxe Editionalso adds a head-start play of 5 days, theSardaukar Bator Armor set, and access to itsSeason Pass.
The game will feature a particularbusiness model that adds free content(live-service) and sellsoptional DLCs, much likeConan Exilesdid, so those purchasing the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition will not receive access to these content drops, but will still be able to enjoy theseasonal content. Finally, the Ultimate Edition also grants a 5-day early-access ticket, plus the bonuses from the Deluxe edition and more extra content including:Paul Atreides’ stillsuitfrom the 2021 movie, access to thedigital artbook, digitalsoundtrack, moreunique color dyes, and theCaladan Palace Set, full of base-buildingdecorations.
It is important to mention thatDune: Awakeningwill not be in Early-Access, it’s a full launchandwill not follow any subscription models, adhering to Funcom’s policy of delivering quality content through several expansions throughout its roadmap. The world will also mix in PvE and PvP elements, but it will not be a full PvP based game like Conan Exiles. It will be a game with safe (aka Non-PvP) zones, and more dangerous free-for-all PvP zones, where valuable resources are contested, and players should measure if they want to risk going inside or not.
