How To Change Weapon And Armor Appearance In Dune: Awakening

To open theCustomization menuinDune: Awakeningplayers need to open theinventory, then scroll to the last tab on the right side of the menu by pressing ‘E.’ Once inside the Customization Menu, scroll down the list to select the piece of equipment to customize. Click on the gear, and navigate the new menu to switch appearance on the first list orSwatches(color palettes) on the second list.

Players can obtain more Swatches bycompleting Questsorjoining a faction. There are someobjectivesin theJourney thatcan also unlock new Swatches, and unlocking certain Tech using Intel can also provide new color palettes and Skins to customize their gear. Weapons and armor of the same group/type haveexchangeable skins, meaning that players can use end-game armor with the appearance of the Makeshift or Scavenger sets, some of the first unlocked in the game.

How To Change Vehicle Appearance In Dune: Awakening

In the case ofvehicles, customizationcan be made through the use of theWelding Tool.Players need to have the Welding Tool equippedand selected, then approach one of their claimed vehicles and press right click to scroll across the menu and select Customize. Then, point their tools towards the desired part they want to customize, and select different color palettes. Once they have the Swatch they desire to paint with, they need to press the left click, aiming at the Vehicle part, and the color will automatically change.

Sadly, there’s no option to paint the vehicle in one go, so players need to paint each part by pointing the cursor at it and repeating the process. This comes with an advantage, though, since players can use different colors for each part, creating some cool combinations.

The customization menu also displays all acquired vehicle skins, some of which are included with theDeluxe and Ultimate Editions ofDune: Awakening. Some vehicle skins can be unlocked by following one of the factions in the game (Harkonnen or Atreides). Each of the vehicles (Sandbike, Buggy, Ornitopter) has a regular version, and their faction variants need to be unlocked by raising the players' reputation with each of them. Hose Atreides is a little bit harder to raise, since it has a long and tiresome story quest attached, with tons of PoI exploration quests. House Harkonnen, on the other side, is a little bit more combat-oriented and easier to max out.
