Summary

Although theDragon Ball Supermanga has been on hiatus following the untimely passing of the legendary Akira Toriyama, Chapter 103 still gave fans a look at the potential future of the series in the form of who the main characters will be going forward. On top of this, the main Saiyans of Universe 7 and Piccolo have all revealed their most powerful transformations that have brought them on a relative scale of power.

Among them, the most potent offensive powerhouses are Vegeta with his Ultra Ego transformation andBroly with his Full Power Super Saiyan state. Naturally,Dragon Ballfans have been debating about who the victor would be if these two were to fight, and though some may think that it’s an easy win for either character, the truth is more complex than that. So, let’s go over who the actual winner would be if these two ever fought.

Broly’s Strongest Form’s Debut

Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 103, “A Legacy Toward the Future”

With each of Universe 7’s main characters having unlocked their own unique ultimate forms, fans have naturally started putting them against one another to seewho the strongest out of them would be. Unfortunately, no concrete answer has been provided, nor can it be properly surmised due to the sudden hiatus that the series went on as of March 2024. So, fans have been hoping for the series to return to finally answer such questions.

However, these potential matchups aren’t just made out of the blue, since many fans have come together to deliberate on the reality of the character’s strengths and feats to see who would come out on top. Because of this, the debate between Ultra Ego Vegeta and Full Power Super Saiyan Broly is one of the most common, due to the similarity of the transformations and the characters who use them. As a result, the true answer to who the stronger one is out of them is a deeper one to gauge.

Upon seeing Goku unlock and eventually master Ultra Instinct in the Tournament of Power, Vegeta tried to do the same but failed, realizing that his path must be different and should play on his strengths. So, upon gaining perspective and training from Beerus,Vegeta unlocked Ultra Ego, which functioned as the direct opposite of Ultra Instinct since it prioritized taking damage rather than avoiding it. It was so powerful that when it was used for the first time against Granolah, it performed better than Goku’s Ultra Instinct.

On the other hand, Broly’s strength is unnatural, since he is gifted with the greatest potential out of the heroes, Universe 7, and perhaps even the multiverse. In his first-ever proper fight, he managed to take on Goku and Vegeta together, unlocking a state far stronger than Super Saiyan Blue despite having no training against such opponents beforehand. However, he could never control this power until recently, when he realized his unmatched strength but finally learned to control it, giving birth to his Full Power Super Saiyan form, which is on the same level as the strongest forms of the other heroes.

So Who Would Win If They Ever Fought One Another?

The True Victor

Due to the nature of Ultra Ego and Full Power Super Saiyan, many fans have rightfully pointed out that both of these forms are quite similar in their application. Both of them play off their users' affinity for offensive might, prioritizingsheer oppressive force over techniqueto overwhelm their opponents, which is quite evident as a central tenet of both Vegeta and Broly’s fighting styles.

However, in a battle between the two, the winner would most likely be Vegeta, though only by a narrow margin. In a conversation about the strength of both of these forms, the answer is even more muddy, since Vegeta hasn’t gotten a full grasp on how to use Ultra Ego efficiently, since his battle against Granolah proved that there is a limit to the amount of damage he can take. Similarly, Broly also needs to hone his state, since, despite boasting incredible strength, his experience with his latest form, and his power in general, is far below that of the others. This can be seen in his spar with Beast Gohan in Chapter 103.

A God of Destruction taught me that power derived solely from instinct is unbounded!

Ultimately, both Vegeta and Broly need to train and perfect their strongest forms to make full use of them. However,Vegeta’s experience may just be the difference maker here, since he has spent far longer as a warrior who has fought many powerful opponents compared to Broly, who only sparred against his father until recently. If these two were to fight in the strongest forms, it could honestly go either way, but Vegeta’s skill and experience have him winning more convincingly.

However, Broly’s offensive power is unnatural, and many believe it is far greater than that of the other heroes, so he could also win this bout. However, this is unlikely since Vegeta is one of the strongest and greatest fighters in the multiverse who now has the Divine Technique of the Gods of Destruction, so it’s unlikely that Broly would be able to overwhelm him.
