Therefore, for her to be shocked proves that his actions were out of character, and that’s the needed type of development. It ultimately helped to bring them closer as she realized his anger was out of the thought of losing her, while she helped to calm him down and stop him from taking his behavior too far. It was a moment that should ultimately makethe Doctor’s relationship with Belindastronger moving forward, which will benefit the show overall. But her surprised response helped to make the moment even more important in the grand scheme of things and allowed his character to move forward.
