The Hunter’s Withering Blade ability inDestiny 2is a solid pick for damaging and slowing enemies, and with the Mask of Fealty Exotic helmet, this ability becomes supercharged. With the mask equipped, players will be able to fill entire rooms with Stasis Crystals and Withered Blades, potentially destroying groups of enemies as soon as they enter visual range.
The following is a Hunter build featuring the Mask of Fealty Exotic that’s all about dodging next to enemies and spamming Withering Blade. It’s a simple-yet-effective build with amazing AoE damage, making it perfect for high-add-density encounters foundin most endgame content.
Fragments
Mask of Fealty is all about Withering Blade, which is the powered melee attackfor Stasis Hunters. By equipping this Exotic helmet, you get the following effect:
Throwing a Withering Blade into a group of enemies while this Exotic is equipped will result in you gettinga good chunk of your melee energy back, and small Stasis Crystals will appear on the field. However, if you hit a frozen target or a crystal with Withering Blade, you end up witha cascade of exploding Stasis crystals that launch more Withering Blades that create even more Stasis crystals. This build is meant to take advantage of the latter effect.
This build uses the Prismatic Hunter subclass mainly for Fragment synergies. Mask of Fealty works just as well with a pure Stasis Hunter build, especially one with Glacier Grenade.
Aspects and Fragments
BothWinter’s ShroudandThreaded Spectersynergize with Gambler’s Dodge. With these three combined, you will:
If you’re dying a lot, consider replacing Threaded Specter with Stylish Executioner. Most (if not all) enemies you kill with this build will be affected by at least one sort of debuff, so activating Stylish Executioner should be quite easy.
As for the Fragments, here’s a summary of their effects:
Weapons and Armor
For your primary weapon,a Stasis weaponwith theHeadstoneperk is the most ideal. This perk will let you create Stasis Crystals upon killing an enemy, which you can then detonate with a Withering Blade. If you don’t like using Headstone, consider a weapon withPugilistto help recover class ability energy faster. You can use whatever weapons you want for your other slots. Recommended Exotic weapons include:
As far as armor goes, just make sure you havehigh Resilience and Strengthto maximize your survivability and improve Withering Blade’s energy regeneration. You can also use a high Mobility build for shorter Dodge cooldowns.
Class Item
This setup is geared towardsrecovering your Withering Blade and Gambler’s Dodge as quickly as possible. Pick whatever Chest Armor mods fit your loadout, and fill any vacant slots with your preferred mods.
Playing this build is simple:Throw Withering Blades at Stasis Crystals or Frozen enemies, use Gambler’s Dodge near enemies, and repeat until every enemy on the screen is gone(or you run out of ability charges). If you have a Headstone weapon, create a Stasis Crystal first, then use Withering Blade to shatter it. Make sure to pick up any Stasis Shards and Orbs of Power to fuel your Fragments and receive buffs.
