Summary
The Hashira aresome of the strongest charactersinDemon Slayerwho will put everything on the line against their foes. They must become masters of their Breathing Styles so that they can always rely on their strongest move against a foe.
This is why some of the strongest Breathing Style techniques used by the Hashira inDemon Slayerare so notable. These attacks are extremely effective and can turn all but the strongest demons into mincemeat.
8Ninth Form: Rengoku
A Strong Technique That Is Only Used By Members Of The Rengoku Family
It’s a shame that Kyojuro passed before he could awaken his demon slayer mark. This prevented viewers from seeing the true extent of his power, especially after witnessing the potential of his Flame Breathing style first-hand.
After charging up an attack that has passed through numerous generations of the Rengoku family, Kyojuru is enveloped in the aura of a fiery dragon as he launches a single devastating slash. This move heavily damaged Akaza, but the Flame Hashira was tired after saving civilians on the train from Enmu and was unable to prevent a fatal blow from taking his life.
7Fifth Form: String Performance
Helps Tengen Unleash A Continuous Barrage
Tengen’s Sound Breathingis a unique style that is useful both in and out of combat. Echolocation is useful, but this Breathing Style needs some powerful offensive maneuvers to take on powerful demons.
This is shown in the Fifth Form, String Performance, where he spins his blade continuously to pressure his opponents. This was enough to push an Upper Rank Demon Moon like Gyutaro, and it’s very much possible that Tengen would’ve outright beheaded his foe with the demon slayer mark enabled.
6Ninth Form: Idaten Typhoon
An Acrobatic Move That Boasts Devastating Power
Fans may hate Sanemi right now, but his backstory will justify his aggressive nature in the eyes of many. His Wind Breathing style is incredibly powerful and will help him take on several powerful demons in the Infinity Castle arc.
The ninth and most powerful form is Idaten Typhoon, serving as an acrobatic move that allows him to use gusts of wind to slice opponents apart. It shows just how powerful Sanemi is that he can use such an impressive technique despite being a human.
5Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye
Enhances A User’s Perception At The Cost Of Severe Eye Damage If Used Carelessly
Unlike other Breathing Styles, the most powerful form of Flower Breathing is a buff that enhances a user’s perception. Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye is a desperate technique that demon slayers should use only if they are pushed against the ropes.
While the perception of time is slowed down with this technique, it comes at a great cost to a user’s eyesight. If left enabled for too long, then it can cause them to go blind, which is the last thing they want when facing a deadly foe.
4Fifth Form: Arcs Of Justice
The Strongest Technique Of The Hardest-Hitting Breathing Style
Stone Breathing is touted by many asthe strongest Breathing Style inDemon Slayer. Seeing Gyomei use a flair and an axe makes it clear that he prioritizes brute strength in combat.
This is why the fifth and best form, Arcs of Justice, is so potent. He unleashes a barrage with his unique weapon that can hit for immense damage if it lands.
3Dance Of The Centipede: Hundred-Legged Zigzag
A Move So Powerful It Can Cleave A Bridge In Two
Shinobu is one of the weaker Hashira in terms of strength, using her poisons to gain an advantage over demons instead. However, Doma’s comments on her ultimate attack make it clear that her technique alone is enough to make up for a gap in strength.
The Dance of the Centipede: Hundred-Legged Zigzag uses momentum to bolster Shinobu’s power, allowing her to strike with so much power that a wooden bridge can be cleaved in two. It’s a testament tothe Insect Hashira’s superior technique, which she honed to a T to take revenge for her sister’s death at the hands of the Upper Rank Two Demon Moon.
2Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds
Muichiro’s Technique Allows Him To Take Out Gyokko In A Hard-Fought Battle
Muichiro should’ve been down and out for the count against Gyokko. Instead, he manifested his demon slayer mark in the nick of time and turned the tables on the Upper Rank Five Demon Moon.
He peppered and weakened him with attacks before unleashing Obscuring Clouds, Mist Breathing’s Seventh Form. It’s a personal creation of the Mist Hashira that confuses demons beforelanding a high-speed slashthat was powerful enough to behead Gyokko and take him out for good.
Giyu’s Original Technique Cements Him As A Warrior Worthy Of Being The Water Hashira
Water Breathing comes naturally to Giyu, which is why he was able to bolster his arsenal of moves with an eleventh form. Dead Calm allows Giyu to achieve total focus and deflect attacks with ease, letting him land a powerful blow to behead powerful demons.
This focus can be broken with a barrage of attacks, but it’s still one of the most impressive techniques in the series. Fans can’t wait to see Dead Calm in action against Akaza during the Infinity Castle arc.
