The Evil Spirit in Jin’s House

The Enjoji Household is Haunted by an Extraordinarily Strong Spirit

After defeating the Serpoians, Okarun, Momo, and Aira rescued Mr. Mantis Shrimp from the school campus and helped him return to his home planet. Following his departure, Momo’s childhood friend Jin Enjoji showed up at the door.

Back in grade school, I made fun of you Momo. Looking back now, I seriously regret it. ~ Jin Enjoji to Momo Ayase

Although Seiko initially kept the reasons for his arrival a secret,Jiji confided in Momothat he had been haunted by a mysterious presence ever since he moved into a new home in the mountains. He tried his best to convince his parents that something was not right about the house, but they didn’t pay attention to his warning. Eventually, a spirit materialized in front of Jin, leaving no room for doubt. From that day onwards, he started seeing it everywhere.

Unfortunately for Jiji, this was just the beginning of his nightmare, as his life started falling apart quite rapidly. Soon, his parents' health deteriorated, and he felt isolated, with no one to turn to. Jin sought the help of experienced spirit mediums to protect his family and cleanse the house of evil energy. This decision backfired, and three out of five spirit mediums committed suicide after the attempted exorcism.

Veteran exorcists gave up on the haunted house and told Jiji thatthere was only one hope, Seiko Ayase. Meanwhile, the evil spirit continued to haunt Enjoji. With his back against the wall, Jin arrived at the Seiko household, not sure if it was even possible to stop the ruthless entity that had turned his life into a nightmare.

Dandadan Season 2 Will Reveal the Bitter Truth About Evil Eye

Season 2 Trailer Leaves Quite a Few Hints for the Fans

The evil spirit in Jin’s house is no ordinary ghost. He is the infamous Evil Eye, a ruthless and vengeful entity that detests humanity. He has been seeking a host for a long time so that he can finally fulfill his genocidal dream of killing all humans.

Interestingly, Dandadan’s season 2 trailer was released a few weeks ago, and it hints that the Evil Eye will be successful in gaining control of Enjoji’s body and transforming it in the process. It is unclear how the sinister monster will be able to trick Enjoji, but the good news is that his friends will fight for him. Meanwhile, the trailer also revealsthe creepy Kito familyalso actively involved in the bizarre battle.

While it’s hard to draw any other solid conclusions, there are also quite a few other hints that suggest there is more to Evil Eye’s story than what meets the eye. His deep-rooted hate for humanity can be seen as just something natural to a sadistic and evil spirit. But that would be a lazy assessment, especially since the trailer is filled with indirect references to his cruel past.

In one of the visuals, a young boy is tied to a large wooden pole as lava slowly approaches him. Jiji can be heard saying about the Evil Eye that he has been suffering all this whole time alone. Meanwhile,Turbo Granny asks Enjojinot to show any sympathy to him. Just a few seconds before this scene, the Evil Eye claims that the grudge will never be eliminated. It appears that the sinister spirit that ends up possessing Enjoji might have been a child at some point in the past and was treated horribly by human beings. This would explain his deep-rooted hatred for humanity and also his genocidal intent.

It also seems logical to conclude that Turbo Granny tried to stop Jin from trusting Evil Eye too much but to no avail. Once Enjoji became a host, the sinisterspirit appeared to be going after Okarun, promising that Momo would be next. There is also a scene that alludes to a future exorcism, which further gives more credence to the theory that Jiji will be possessed.

That idiot! I warned him, you can’t trust someone with the Evil Eye. ~ Turbo Granny

The trailer also shows a volcanic eruption on more than one occasion, which is strange considering the fact that Evil Eye, when he was a human being, was probably burned alive in a similar incident. Since his hands were tied to a pole at the time, it’s plausible that he was perhaps a victim of a bizarre religious or cultural ritual. It seems highly likely that someone or something was behind his brutal end.

While the trailer has left quite a few hints for the fans, it would be foolish to expect that Evil Eye’s entire backstory can be concluded from it. It is possible that some critical details will only be revealed once season 2 is released. For now, fans can take comfort in the fact that the next few arcs do look quite interesting, with exciting fight scenes to compliment a captivating story.
