Those who enjoyed playing with heavy weapons back inElden Ringwill probably find Raider to be a perfect choice inElden Ring Nightreign, carrying a heavy weapon and coming withsignificantly powerful skill moves. He is the ultimate warrior, and this has also been reflected throughout Raider’s personal journey inthe Remembrance questline.
Similar to every other Nightfarer, Raider also comes with a storyline dedicated to his past, explaining more about the character’s nature and resolving some of the mysteries that have been haunting him for a long time. Completing the Remembrance questline ties the present and the past of each character, and sometimes, they collide with each other in their memories, leading to impactful revelations.
Raider Remembrance Quest Requirements: The Journal And Memory Fragments
Raider’s questline is somewhat straightforward. If you have completed any other character’s Remembrance questline so far, you might expect to solve small mysteries or look for specific items either in Roundtable Hold or Limveld, but that is not the case with Raider. This character’s past only features boss fights, and that’s why the requirements to complete his questline are few.
After completing the training session, the journal will be unlocked by default, and you will get an explanation of its purpose when you interact with it for the first time. Each character’s questline is formed by multiple chapters, and a handful of them can be relived by the player.
The key to unlocking these chapters is memory fragments. These can be earned by simply playing the game anddefeating the night bosses and Nightlords. Mostly, defeating a Nightlord guarantees a memory fragment drop, but it doesn’t appear like an item drop. The player will only know if they have obtained a memory fragment from an expedition when they return to the Roundtable Hold.
Earlier in the questline, you don’t necessarily need to complete all three days of an expedition successfully; even a failure can reward you with a memory fragment. However, later in Raider’s chapters, defeating a Nightlord becomes necessary.

Chapter 2
After earning the first memory fragment with Raider, Chapter 2 will be unlocked in his journal, which includes a remembrance. So, launch the memory andspeak with Iron Menial. He will explain a bit about the monument, then ask you totouch it. This will kick off the beginning of theTourney Betweencontest, where the Raider must face multiple challengers and defeat them all.
Speak with Iron Menial a few more times, and you will be ready to fight the first challenger. Before touching the monument to begin the fight, you’re able to change your equipped relics at the Relic Rite.
Onestrike Gladiatoris the first challenger, and it’s an easy fight overall. All you need to do is time your attack moves. Every attack from the opponent can be dodged easily. The only tough move that he makes is when he activates his weapon’s skill and releases some steam from himself, then rushes towards you with two successive attacks. The first attack can be dodged easily, but if you don’t roll quickly after that, the second strike might hit you.
The good news is that Raider’s non-ultimate ability canknock the enemy downon impact. This can give the player enough time to land two more hits with the weapon after the enemy is downed.
It’s important to keep in mind that Onestrike Gladiator does have the ability to swing his weapons. As such, verify to keep your distance from him when he starts to swing the chain.
Even if you fail the fight, you will respawn next to the monument again, which allows you to restart the battle. Once you win the fight, speak with Iron Menial and then touch the monument for the next challenger, but it will refuse to begin another fight. Talk to Iron Menial one last time, then conclude the remembrance.
After returning to the present, you will getthe Torn Braided Cord relic as a reward. This is the same item that you were rewarded with after defeating Onestrike Gladiator.
Chapter 4
Upon completing Chapter 2, Chapter 4 will be unlocked instantly, with a remembrance ready to begin. Once more, you will spawn next to the monument. Talk to Iron Menial first and then touch the monument to begin the next fight.
You are about to face theBlinding Elder Lion. Unlike Onestrike Gladiator, the lion is quite fast with its moves, and it has one long-range jump that could take a big chunk of your health while making it harder to dodge. If there is one thing to learn when fighting the Blinding Elder Lion, it’s that you shouldroll forward rather than backward. The attacks from the lion cover a wide range, and even with a backward roll, you may still get the hit. Also, it’s best to use your abilities more often during this fight, but don’t worry, as you will get unlimited tries to eventually defeat the lion.
After you beat the Blinding Elder Lion, speak with Iron Menial to conclude this remembrance as well. Upon arriving at the present, you will get Raider’s Chalice.
Chapter 7
The next chapter in the journal that includes a remembrance is Chapter 7, butyou should beat two Nightlordsto unlock it, aseach memory fragment will unlock only one chapter. When the new chapter begins, talk to the Iron Menial, and he will let you know that the next challenger has not arrived yet.
Now, open the map andfast travel to the shore. There’s a fallen pillar here. Stand next to it, and you will be teleported to the battle arena for one last time to face theWhite Horn. This boss fights almost like Onestrike Gladiator, but he is a little stronger and has some new moves.
The surprising moment of the battle arrives when White Horn is down to his last 25% of health. At this moment,he shapeshifts into a giant worm-like creature, which makes the final phase of the battle unexpectedly difficult. Knowing how slow Raider’s attacks can be, it’s important to hit the White Horn at the right time, and if you ever feel like you are not going to be able to dodge his incoming attack, justperform the Ultimate Art. Raider’s ultimate ability makes him immune to any incoming damage while he performs it. So, it’s a nice little hack for avoiding drama near the end of the battle.
Coming out victorious from the battle against the White Horn will almost finish the Raider’s questline. All you need to do now is talk to Iron Menial, read the writing on the monument, and then pay respect to the White Horn. On top of that, the writing on the monument unravels a big twist about Raider’s identity. In the end, you will receivethe Remembrance skin, and it will be equipped automatically.
Now, return to the present to get one last reward from the questline:the Black Claw Necklace relic. It’s also worth reading the journal, as a final chapter is available with some more information about the outcome of Raider’s journey.
While Raider will spawn with his Remembrance skin in the present, the default skin is still available, and players can equip it viathe Change Garb drawer.
