Near the beginning ofDeltaruneChapter 3, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei participate in a game show that centers around completing two boards. As players work through those boards, their performance is evaluated, and that evaluation ultimately determines the rank that is awarded at the end of a round. While earning a low rank will not preclude the player from completingDeltaruneChapter 3, they will need to reach S-rank on both boards if they want to see all the major content in the chapter. This requirement can create situations where players will want to replay boards in order to improve their rank, and this guide is here to detail the options that are available.
There is actually a rank beyond S-rank: T-rank. Players that reach that rank can collect a Pink Ribbon and a White Ribbon from Ramb in the Green Room, and they will gain access to a secret room in the prize room hallway.
Can You Replay Boards in Deltarune Chapter 3?
It is currentlynotpossible to replayboards inDeltaruneChapter 3, which means that players who are unhappy with their ranks cannot simply restart a round. Instead, players who wish to improve their ranks will need to pursue one of the following options, neither of which are ideal:
Buy S-Rank for Board 1
If a player has received a rating below S-rank on the first board, they can buy the rank (for 1,500 points) after completing Round 1. To make the purchase, players should use the path at the bottom of the Green Room, to enter a room with red carpet and gold statues, and make their way to the bottom-right corner. While this option can be used to address board one, it is not available for board two. Fortunately, it is much easier to earn S-rank on board two than it is to earn it on board one, as players can farm unlimited points in Round 2 simply by repeatedly photographing enemies. Since it is not possible to buy S-rank for board two, players should do their best to maintain a save that is made after earning S-rank on board one and before Round 2 is initiated, as that save can be used to quickly restart the second board if the rank that is obtained is undesirable.
Restart Chapter 3
If a player does not have enough points to buy S-rank after board one, or if they have missed S-rank on board two and do not have a save file that allows them to easily retry it, their only option is to restart Chapter 3. Fortunately, it is possible to repeatedly use a completedDeltrauneChapter 2save file to start Chapter 3, which means that players do not need to worry about losing anything from the first two chapters if they are required to restart the third. Here is how that is done:
While players who want to improve their ranks may not be thrilled about restarting Chapter 3, it does not take very long to get back toTV Timeand the first board. Additionally, players who are forced to replay the chapter’s introduction will have the opportunity to create a TV World - Before the Show save, which is made just before starting Round 1 and can be used to quickly return to the beginning of board one if S-rank is not earned.
