Summary
An eagle-eyedCall of Duty: Black Ops 6player has discovered that the scope on the new Essex Model 07, a Marksman Rifle that was added to the game with Season 4, is not centered. Although this might not seem like much of an issue, the misalignment of a weapon’s scope can result in players missing their shots and potentially losing battles inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6orWarzone, and it’s not the first time this has happened either.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s big Season 4 update launched on May 29, but the update has already caused multiple controversies. While players are now finding weapons with misaligned scopes,Call of Dutyfans have already blasted the game’s Season 4 updatefor a multitude of other reasons. Although the game’s Season 3 update was heavily praised, Season 4 seems to have set the game back once again as it introduced stability issues, server lag, bugs, and more. Fans were also disappointed after Raven Software announced it would replace Battle Royale Solos fromCall of Duty: Warzonein favor of Battle Royale Casual Solos, an identical game mode with one major difference: most of the players in the lobby are bots.
Black Ops 6’s Essex Model 07’s Scope Is Misaligned
It has been less than two weeks sinceCall of Duty: Black Ops 6Season 4launched, but players are already discovering a serious issue with the Essex Model 07. The new Marksman Rifle is available for free in the Season 4 Battle Pass, but Reddit user Professional_Read482 recently noticed that the weapon’s scope is not centered. In a new post, the user said whenever they put a scope and a laser on the Essex Model 07, they don’t match up. They say they checked with numerous other scopes, and the problem remains the same every single time. Other users, such asD34D0nechimed in, saying that the gun is a “broken mess” as it also seems to have an issue that is preventing it from causing damage to enemies, even if a hitmarker appears.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time this issue has happened in aCall of Dutygame. After launching in 2023,Warzoneplayers are stillwaiting for the Kar98k fromModern Warfare 3to be fixed, as it has exactly the same issue as the Essex Model 07. The scope on the popular weapon has reportedly been misaligned inWarzoneever since it was released, but developer Raven Software has never deployed a fix for the issue. Two years later, fans are still attempting to bring attention to the problem. Given that it still remains an issue, there’s a strong chance that the Essex Model 07 meets the same fate and remains broken forever.
