“Does that bother you, Sarada? That other girls might like Boruto? Well, it certainly bothers me!"—Sumire Kakei

However, what Sarada and Sumire didn’t know was that Eida’s feelings were starting to change. It’s pretty obvious thatEida’s feelings for Kawakiare fizzling out, especially after her unexpected conversation with Mitsuki about the concept of love. If so, Sarada’s greatest rival might not be Sumire but would be Eida. After all, Eida is the complete opposite of Sumire and is too aggressive when it comes to love.

Eida’s Sudden Change of Heart

Her Feelings for Kawaki Are Shifting

WhileBoruto: Naruto Next Generationsshowed an Eida who had zero intention of pursuing Boruto,Two Blue Vortexshows a new and different side to her. In the beginning, all Eida wanted was to be with Kawaki, constantly rejecting Boruto despite him being the closest candidate to her heart. She believed Boruto was too young for her, someone who’sthe exact opposite of Kawaki.

Eida was even willing to sacrifice Boruto to reach Kawaki when she was still in cooperation with Code. And even after she decided to stay in Konoha, she was obsessed with the idea of falling in love with Kawaki more than anything else. However, her attitude and the way she sees Boruto started to change afterthe effects of Omnipotence. Not only did she promise not to look for Boruto and Sasuke when they went rogue, but she also started getting sick of Kawaki’s cowardice.

Boruto… are you really 12 years old?—Eida

Now, Eida’s attention is clearly shifting toward Boruto rather than Kawaki. She refuses to cause trouble for Boruto, almost as if she doesn’t want anything that will bring further harm to him. In addition, she’s obviously impressed by Boruto’s maturity, yet she restrains herself from going too deep to avoid losing her fantasy of love with Kawaki.

So, Is Eida Falling for Boruto Now?

It’s Not Impossible

TheBorutomanga has yet to delve into Eida’s feelings for Boruto again, but the change in her heart is gradually becoming noticeable. She’s getting tired of Kawaki’s antics, including his immaturity and abuse. She’s aware thatKawaki is only using her abilities, yet it isn’t enough to convince her to stop. In other words, she’s so in love with the idea of loving Kawaki that she refuses to free herself from him.

Above all else, I don’t want to cause trouble for Boruto.—Eida to Shikamaru

That said, it would not come as a surprise if Eida suddenly chose Boruto over Kawaki sometime in the future. She might be the rival Sarada needs to be wary of, instead of Sumire, in the long run. Knowing Eida, she would not give up easily, considering the struggles she had to face to find genuine love in theBorutomanga.
