Naruto Uzumaki has become one of the most powerful ninjas in theNarutouniverse. While he may still be no match for some overpowered Otsutsuki, he is definitely one of the strongest humans alive inBoruto. Naruto is so powerful that the series had to take him off the screen for a while to properly develop the story.
However, it would be a waste if none of the main characters inBoruto: Two Blue Vortexever surpassed Naruto. Many speculate that Boruto Uzumaki or Sarada Uchiha will be the ones to surpass him, since Boruto is his oldest child and Sarada aims to be a Hokage because of Naruto. Nonetheless, another character seems to have everything ready to surpass Naruto later on.
Where Is Naruto Uzumaki in Boruto Two Blue Vortex?
In the final chapters ofBoruto: Naruto Next Generations, Kawaki tells Naruto and Hinata that he intends to kill Boruto once again. Boruto was once killed, but Momoshiki Otsutsuki healed him, which made Kawaki even more afraid that Momoshiki would eventually take control of Boruto. Kawaki is right to recognize the danger that the Otsutsuki clan poses, and his determination to defeat them is admirable, but he may be overreacting.
In any case, anticipating Naruto and Hinata’s opposition to his goals, and their attempts to stop him from acting against Boruto, he sealed them both in another dimension. To make matters worse, Eida’s Omnipotence distorted the perception of reality for almost everyone in the series. In this “new reality” created by Eida, everyone believes that Boruto was adopted by Naruto and later killed him; in other words, Boruto and Kawaki swapped places in people’s memories. For this reason, Konoha sees Boruto as a threat.
When Will Naruto and Hinata Come Back?
Kawaki has stated that Naruto and Hinata are well, and that time hasn’t passed for them. It isn’t clear exactly when they will return, but fans believe that they will only return after Boruto and Kawaki confront each other. For now, the story is focusing on the Shinju Clones, and it seemsunlikely that Naruto will returnwhile Jura is still searching for him and Himawari. Additionally, the story is about to open a new arc related to Akebi’s resurrection, which has a fair chance of resulting in Akebi becoming an Otsutsuki and a new antagonist.
With so many urgent things happening at the same time, it seems unlikely thatBoruto and Kawaki will confront each otheranytime soon. On the contrary, it would make more sense for them to join forces for a short while in order to defeat these threats.
Himawari Uzumaki Can Surpass Naruto
In the first chapters ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, a shocking revelation emerged:Himawari Uzumaki is the current Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails. This took most fans by surprise, especially sinceKurama sacrificed himself inBoruto: NNG. It isn’t yet clear why or how Himawari was chosen as the next Jinchuriki, but Kurama believes that she could have inherited the Nine Tails chakra from Naruto.
However, death is not eternal for us Biju. Even if our flesh or soul perishes, over time a kernel of us will sprout somewhere and we will manage to return to life. (…) No one knows how long it will take, or where it might sprout. Much less that it would be inside his daughter and this soon… the universe is full of mysteries. You may have been born inheriting a sliver of my chakra or this was your destiny, brought into being by the Uzumaki and Hyuga blood that flows within you. Well, since it’s already happened, the how doesn’t matter.

It seems the story will come back to this point later. She still has a long way to go, but with chakra from Tailed Beasts, and Otsutsuki ancestry through both Hyuga and Uzumaki clans, she could easily become stronger than Naruto. When we better understand Himawari’s relationship with Kurama, we will see her true potential in the story.
Is Himawari the Ten Tails?
IfHimawari inherited Kurama’s chakra, she could also have inherited chakra from other Tailed Beasts that Naruto acquired in the original series. Some even speculate thatshe could be the Ten Tails, and this may not be a farfetched theory. However, we will need to wait and see how the story unfolds.
Himawari is a resolute person, as she has lived alone in the Uzumaki house while her parents are away. This may actually be a sign that Himawari knows that they are not dead and will eventually return. Furthermore, she doesn’t seem to be angry at Boruto, which probably means she isn’t fully affected by Eida’s Omnipotence. Not only that, but she may be a pivotal character in breaking the world free from this Shinjutsu.
