Boruto: Two Blue Vortexhas introduced many new elements that complicated the plot for fans. At this point, it seems impossible to predict what will happen in the future. Naruto Uzumaki is sealed away, there are humanoid Divine Trees roaming around, and everyone hates Boruto Uzumaki because they are literally living in an illusion created by Eida’s Omnipotence.
However, even with so much at stake at the same time inBoruto, Kawaki Uzumaki is still seen as the main antagonist of the story. While Kawaki has gone too far, it would actually make no sense for him to be the final antagonist, especially since most characters know that there is a greater threat lingering out there.
Kawaki Is Depicted As The Main Antagonist in Boruto TBV
Kawaki took an unexpected turn at the end ofBoruto: Naruto Next Generationswhen he decided to kill Boruto Uzumaki out of fear that Momoshiki Otsutsuki would eventually control Boruto. He even sealed Naruto and Hinata in another dimension so they wouldn’t witness him killing their son and wouldn’t be able to stop him.
InBoruto: Two Blue Vortex,Kawaki has been portrayed as the main antagonist, at least for now. While he may not fully understand Eida’s Omnipotence, he knows what he did, and he knows that Konoha should not be targeting Boruto, since Boruto didn’t kill Naruto as they believe. Yet, Kawaki takes advantage of it to achieve his goal, regardless of the pain he has caused for everybody, especially to the Uzumaki family — Himawari Uzumaki, who is apparently unaware of the deeper plot surrounding her family, has suffered greatly because of it, and Kawaki doesn’t seem to care at all.
Kawaki Has A Great Backstory to Be Explored
WhetherKawaki is actually an antagonist or not,Boruto TBVshould explore the gaps in his backstory. Kawaki was abused by his drunken father, and then he was abused by the Kara organization. Despite his attitude, he is a vulnerable kid with trust issues who feels indebted to Naruto Uzumaki. He is doing all this to protect Naruto from the Otsutsuki Clan and any other potential danger. In this sense, he is similar to Itachi, who massacred the Uchiha clan because he believed it was the only way to protect Sasuke.

While Ikemoto has already revealed the main events of Kawaki’s story in the Kara organization, the origins of his parents remain a mystery. There’s a gap to be explored, especially regarding Kawaki’s mother (he could have Otsutsuki ancestry, for example). Furthermore,it would be great if Kawaki’s fear that Momoshiki could eventually take control over Boruto was at least partially right— it would be thrilling if this happened, even if only for a short while. Finally, Kawaki is only a teenager; thus, he is bound to make hasty and wrong decisions. If the story takes all of this into account, Kawaki has great potential in the story.
Kawaki Is Nowhere As Dangerous As the Otsutsuki Clan
No matterhow desperate or deranged Kawaki may be, he is not evil by nature— this has been well-established in the first part ofBoruto. Furthermore, he is not nearly as powerful as a true Otsutsuki. Therefore, it makes no sense for the story to portray theOtsutsuki clan as the greatest threat to humanityand then put Kawaki as the final antagonist. There will likely be a battle between Boruto and Kawaki, in which Kawaki could be redeemed, but this should not be the final battle inBoruto TBV.
For instance, even the Shinju Clones are after the Otsutsuki clan. Boruto, Kawaki, and the Human God Trees all share the same objective when it comes to them. It would make no sense not to put someone from this clan as the final villain in the story. Amado and Akebi could be the key to the introduction orreturn of an overpowered Otsutsuki.
Shibai Otsutsuki Should Be The Final Antagonist
There is a frightening character briefly mentioned inBoruto: Naruto Next Generationwho would be the perfect final antagonist:Shibai Otsutsuki. Shibai is said to have consumed so many Chakra Fruits that he ascended to godhood, leaving his mortal body behind. Such a power-hungry character would fit perfectly intoBoruto TBV’s insane power-scaling system, where every new jutsu seems more overpowered than the last.
