It goes without saying the Gold is valuable inBaldur’s Gate 3, and while you may get a lot of powerful items just lying around in the world, some of the best gear in the game is conveniently sold by vendors. The better the item, the more expensive and is, and while Gold isn’t terribly hard to get, coughing up enough dosh to make a purchase is still a hassle, especially early on.

Thankfully, there’s a mechanic inBaldur’s Gate 3that players can exploit to get what is essentially unlimited Gold, and all you need to do it is a Level 3 Warlock built a very specific way. Here’s how to do it.

How to Get Infinite Money in Baldur’s Gate 3

This exploit involvesusing a Hexblade Warlocktorepeatedly sell a bound Hexed weapon to vendors. For those who don’t know, the Bind Hexed Weapon makes it so that the bound weapon in question can never leave the Warlock’s inventory. Normally, selling it would be impossible, but there’s a way to go around that restriction. The steps you need to take to get this exploit to work are:

For this to work, you must Barter with vendors, not Trade. To switch between these buy/sell modes, check the top of the vendor’s menu when buying/selling items, and click the button there.

Bound Hexed weapons will not disappear from the Barter menu after being “sold,“which means you can keep selling them until the vendor runs out of money. Once they do run out of money, take a Long Rest to replenish their inventories. Repeat this process until you get all the Gold you need.

You use this method forany weapon that’s worth Gold. Pactbound weapons from the Pact of the Blade are worth 0 Gold and cannot be sold. Ironically, Shadow Blade can be sold for 30 Gold. Ideally, you should bind an expensive weaponlike the Everburn Bladeso you don’t have to sell as many times as you would with a cheap one.

Since the bound weapon cannot disappear from the Warlock’s inventory, you may also use this exploit to raise a vendor’s favorability towards you. Just keep donating your bound weapon without asking for anything in return. This will make vendors give you larger discounts on items — not that it would matter, all things considered.
