Summary
The rarest currency inCookie Clicker, which most players will find themselves waiting for, is the Sugar Lump. Players have no way to speed up the production of Sugar Lumps besides a few sparse upgrades, some plants that can be unlocked in the garden, and the mechanic of appeasing the Grandma horde.
Usually, Sugar Lumps take around 24 hours to become fully mature and be collected automatically, and even with every upgrade speeding up production, they will still take roughly 18 hours. Players should think carefully, then, about where they spend their Sugar Lumps to get the most progress and Cookie outcome from their purchases.
8Refresh Timers Or Regen Mana
Boost The Amount Of Mana Available Or Make Plants Grow Faster
By far the worst use for Sugar Lumps, using the scarce currency to fully regenerate mana in the Grimoire minigame is a huge waste of the resource. The Sugar Lumps can also be spent to refresh worship swaps in the Temple building game or to speed up time in the Stock Market or Garden minigames.
While each of these will save a little time when used, the Sugar Lump is then lost. With all other upgrades, the purchase is sustained through the whole run and even through Ascensions. Only players with Sugar Lumps to spare should consider this option.
7Level Up Cursors To Level 12
Boost Your Stock Market Offices To The Max
Leveling the Cursor building to Level 12 will not onlyboost the production of the building itself, but it also lets players upgrade their offices in the Stock Market minigame to their maximum level, allowing for huge potential storage of stock to be resold when it will make the most profit.
While getting Cursors to this level requires a hefty investment of 78 Sugar Lumps, for players who have advanced enough to make full use of the Stock Market, the extra storage can be invaluable.
6Unlock The Pantheon
Using The Hit And Miss Powers Of Deities
Investing a Sugar Lump to level up the Temple building to Level 1 will unlock the Pantheon minigame for players to access. While at first glance it is simplistic and has a lot of downsides, players who utilize the Pantheon early will have an opportunity to extend Golden Cookie bonuses, increase Sugar Lump maturation rate, or even just give a flat increase to Cookies per Second.
Although it is perhaps the weakest of the minigames in terms ofcustomizing a skillset or maximizing profits, it can go a long way to increasing income, especially in the early game or before leaving the game idle for a while.
5Unlock The Stock Market
In the same way that players unlock the Pantheon, the Stock Market minigame can be unlocked by spending a single Sugar Lump on the Bank building. When it reaches Level 1, players can open up a live feed showing the value of different ingredients. Fans can try their hand at long-term investments, buying up stock in ingredients when the value is low and deciding the perfect moment to sell as the value climbs.
Players should be careful, though - investments on the Stock Market are quite risky and bakers could lose a lot of cookies if they aren’t careful and strategic with their purchases!
4Unlock The Garden
Growing Plants In The Garden Can Give Building-Specific Or Global Bonuses
The minigame linked to the Farm building is perhaps the most involved and will require some work to perfect. Leveling the Farm to Level 1 unlocks the Garden, whereplayers can spend large amounts of cookies to purchase seeds and plant crops on a grid.
Each plant will give the player some kind of small bonus while it is growing, and planting certain crops next to each other will allow for weird and wonderful mutations that provide different buffs or nerfs. Although it can be tricky to manage, the Garden can quickly give great bonuses that mean players will want to put the effort into the upkeep.
3Unlock The Grimoire
Chaining Spells Can Stack Buffs With Huge Effect
Spending a Sugar Lump on the Wizard Tower building unlocks the Grimoire, and while at first glance this can appear to be another tricky balancing act to get any sustainable kind of profit, the magic system is easy to use, and certain spells can easily lead to massive bonuses.
The maximum amount of mana that players have access to is based on the number of Wizard Towers they have bought. This mana can then be spent on a range of spells that can give a lump sum of cookies or, for much more impressive effects, can be used to summon a Golden Cookie for huge temporary bonuses that rocket profits upwards.
2Level Up Farms To Level 9
A Larger Plot In The Garden Means More Room For Plants
Although getting Farms to Level 1 is a great start andgives access to the Garden for potential big CpS bonuses, spending the 45 required Sugar Lumps to get the Farm building to Level 9 will expand the garden to its maximum size.
Every upgrade up to that point increases the number of potential plots in the Garden, letting players experiment more with mutations and unique combinations of plants. While it may not be the best thing to prioritize first, having the space to expand the garden is something every fan should eventually do, when they can save up enough of the daily currency.
1Save 100 Sugar Lumps For Ascension Perk Buffs
Sugar Baking Upgrade Rewards 1% CpS For Each Lump
One of the best Ascension upgrades, the Sugar Baking upgrade, gives players +1% CpS for every unspent Sugar Lump that they have obtained. Like many of the upgrades inCookie Clicker, this can seem to be a very slight and surface-level increase. However, savvy players will be able to stockpile Sugar Lumps to gain the maximum benefit from this perk.
The upgrade caps at 100 Sugar Lumps, meaning players can add 100% CpS production on any and every run while they maintain this ability. Any players who have entered the late game and are struggling to spend the special currency should beeline for this upgrade and then perhaps hold off on spending Sugar Lumps to let the baking commence.
