Summary
Every MMORPG has a variety of weapons and gear to fit every unique character build. The lore ofDuneincludes the legendary Fremen stillsuits, and inDune: Awakening, there’s a whole line of stillsuits available, varying in durability, quality, and capacity.
The major advantages of a Stillsuit inDune: Awakeningare the constant supply of water and better protection from the elements, but the downside is more vulnerability to enemy attacks. Thebest stillsuitsare available later in the game, but some choices are ideal for the low and mid-level grind.
7Scavenger Stillsuit
Early Survivalist Gear
This is the first Stillsuit that most players research and make because it’s the subject of a quest called “Echoes of the Past.” It’spart of the Tutorial quest chainin which players learn the value of the moisture-sealed caves, how to access them, and the resources found within.
TheScavenger Stillsuitis made of plant fiber, which can be found in various locations throughout the open world, and Micro-sandwich Fabric. This material spawns randomly in chests that players find in various locations, like bandit camps, but it is always part of the entrance that must be cut away to access a moisture-sealed cave. A General Fabricator is sufficient to make one, but more advanced players can use their Clothing Fabricator.
6Kirab Stillsuit
Uses More Durable Iron
The Kirab are part of the smuggler, slaver, and bandit population on Arrakis, and they’ve improved on the design of previous stillsuits. Once the player has progressed far enough in the Research tab to iron products, they can use a few Intel points to discover theKirab Stillsuit.
In addition to plant fiber and Micro-sandwich Fabric, this product requires iron bars as part of the recipe. These can be easily farmed in the Vermillius Gap, which is where the player will be spending most of their time when they unlock this recipe.
5Slaver Stillsuit
Requires A Garment Fabricator
As the Stillsuits improve, components to make them also become more difficult to find and much more valuable. Not only do players need special materials like steel ingots and Silicone Blocks, but they also need a Garment Fabricator, since all advanced pieces of gear require amore high-tech crafting and assembly process.
Steel ingots require carbon, iron, and water along with an Ore Refinery. Silicone blocks are made in a Chemical Refinery from Flour Sand, which is found in bandit camps and scavenger outposts. The only other material that’s needed is the Micro-sandwich fabric, a common resource needed for virtually all clothing recipes.
4Native Stillsuit
The Fremen Way
There’s no stillsuit in the game that’s specifically called “the Fremen Stillsuit,” and the lore of the environment states that the Fremen are either hidden or extinct, but theNative Stillsuitdesign is the next best thing. It’s slightly better than the Slaver version and requires one additional ingredient, Stillsuit Tubing, and instead of steel, the metal used is aluminum.
Aluminum is more difficult to find and is located further north, but by now, players will have bikes, buggies, and’thopters that can reach these locations. The only other stillsuit that also uses aluminum is Shadrath’s, but this is a unique schematic that can only be purchased in Sentinel City from a vendor for a very high price.
3Mercenary Stillsuit
Designed For A Soldier
The heat protection isn’t much better than other models, but the armor value for this stillsuit is higher than average, perhaps because it was made for a covert type of soldier. Aside from the sandmasters and dunerunners, there are plenty of hired guns on Arrakis, and they have to strike a balance between battle-readiness and survival capability.
Uraluminum ingots, the main ingredient in this more advanced suit, are refined from aluminum ingots and Jasmium Crystals in a medium refinery. The crafting ability and hardware needed to make this a mid- to high-level item are intended for characters at a higher level.
2CHOAM Stillsuit
Precious Plastanium
The CHOAM stillsuit has a better armor rating and is stronger against the elements than the Mercenary version. It uses a higher-level material called plastanium, which is made by refining titanium ore with stravidium fiber in a large ore refinery. Players who are making this stillsuit will have access to the most advanced fabricators and will be preparing for endgame content, and some of these resources can only be found indangerous, high-level regions like the Deep Desert.
The CHOAM corporation would be expected to have a high-quality suit to protect its employees on the ground, so it’s not a surprise that one of thebest stillsuits inDune: Awakeningwould be of their design. It might be possible to buy a suit on the Exchange, but this would cost the equivalent of getting the materials anyway.
1Batigh Stillsuit
A Unique Schematic
Another great reason to unlock the Planetologist skill tree is that the schematic for one ofDune: Awakening’s best stillsuitsis the reward for completing the entire questline. According to the greater storyline, Dr. Kynes helped to design this suit personally and was a former colleague of Derek Chinara, the Planetologist trainer who is the keeper of the schematic that teaches the pattern.
When players completes “The Final Piece,” which is the last in the long and complicated Planetologist training questline,they’ll be rewarded with the schematicfor theBatigh Stillsuit. It’s made of several complex materials that are only available in the endgame, such as Duraluminum Ingots and Spice-infused Duraluminum Dust.
