Elden Ring Nightreignbrings with itplenty of new featuresto entice both new and old fans of the series into a world of intense action and brutal fighting. One of the most interesting mechanics in the game is the relics system, which allows players to customize their character with a set of buffs to take into the next run, ranging from starting status effects to bonus runes for the entire party.
When choosing a Nightfarer to enter Limveld with, the relics can be as important as the class itself. The Revenant is a character that benefits heavily from correct relic use, as she has plenty of strengths to play to, as well as a few weaknesses that can easily be mitigated with a few well-slotted relics.
All The Cards Into The Ultimate
Effects:
Revenant has a pretty interesting set of skills that allow her to summon various spirits to help her in battle, ranging from a small fighter to a giant skeleton. But the biggest asset she brings to a team is her ultimate, which makes her and her nearby allies immune to death for a short period. This is one of the more powerful ultimates in the entire game, as when used correctly, it can carry fights all on its own.
So, when crafting the perfect build for Revenant, using the Old Portrait seems like a no-brainer, as it buffs both the survivability and damage output for her best ability. Therelic is pretty useless for other Nightfarers, but on Revenant, it transforms the immortality into a huge swing that can turn the tide of a battle in seconds. It also comes with a handy passive to help players build up the ultimate faster between nights, an added bonus to an already insane relic.
Extra Resources And A Handy Combat Buff
One of Revenant’s biggest weaknesses is her lack of consistent FP restoration,as unlike Recluse, her kit doesn’t have a built-in way of recovering mana. So it is important to take relics like this one to increase the player’s total amount, whilst also giving them options outside of the traditional spellcasting playstyle.
Night of the Wise is a pretty handy relic that provides a decent boost to the player’s FP count right from the start and also allows them to get up close and personal with the lords and deal some significant damage through status effects. When used in the right situation, the relic can boost the party’s chances of winning immensely through raw damage and spell-slinging potential.
5Incantation Buffs
Revenant’s biggest strength in terms of base stats is by far her faith. While other builds can work on her, it is almost always a good idea to focus on incantations as the player’s main source of damage or support. Because of this, taking relics that focus on a specific type of incantation can greatly boost the player’s chances of success in a run, improving their damage output and ability to take down the Nightlords.
There is an individual buff for every type of incantation, so it can be hard to reliably get a seal that lines up with the relic. However, there are a few ways of improving the effectiveness of the relic. Firstly, if the player finds a relic with multiple buffs on it, including an incantation one, they can safely equip it and still benefit from the other effects if they get unlucky. But also, there are a few guaranteed locations where seals spawn, allowing players to grab them quickly and increase their chances of a relic alignment.
Stay Close To Your Friends
The Small Makeup Brush is a great passive relic that provides some nice extra effects that can be switched between at any moment. Each individual summon has its own unique buff that applies when the player is nearby, ranging from HP restoration, attack boosts, and additional defensive buffs just by standing nearby.
The passives seem small, but when the player has a summon out pretty much all the time, they become hugely beneficial boosts to the player’s overall survivability and turn Revenant into one of themore powerful Nightfarersright at the start. The second effect is a common one that many players will benefit from, allowing those extra levels to be reached faster and providing a real incentive to keep farming all the way until the final moments.
More Damage, More Heals
Having too many active or passive effects can make things pretty messy, and even if the player has all these flashy effects at once, it doesn’t mean their actual power level is all that high. The best way to build Revenant is always going to be a spell-focused set of items, so having stats that buff incantations and spells seems like the obvious route to go.
These small but mighty passive buffs are super handy for reaching certain breakpoints faster. For instance, if a player jumps into a run and it takes three hits to take down a wolf, having a few extra stats for the respective spells can reduce it to two much sooner and make the whole run a lot smoother and more consistent for everyone.
Make Those Spells Hit Harder
Revenant loves incantations almost as much as she loves her family, and thankfully, there are plenty of relics that feed into magic damage in a way that is simple yet effective. Having some bonus damage that applies to all spell effects means that when taking onsome of the tougher Nightlords, fewer spells will be needed to actually take them down.
But it’s always nice to have an insurance policy, so grabbing a relic with some mind attached to it will allow the player to have their incantation effects up for longer, and give them a better chance at sustaining their DPS without having to use a Starlight Shard or running out entirely.
Always Bring Enough Mana
Revenant suffers from an affliction that affects all spellcasters: FP costs. And, as a result, throwing out dozens of spells can quickly dry up the player’s supply of mana, even if they have some consumables to help recover it. Fortunately, there are some great relics that have ways of restoring FP, just by attacking enemies.
Also, when Revenant players drop into Limveld, their main focuses aside from leveling up are acquiring some seals and looting Sorcerer’s Rises for their magical rewards. With relic effects that benefit both of those approaches, it means that players get rewarded for playing the game in a standard way, buffing their spell resources in a way that feeds directly into normal gameplay.
