There are other ways to get stronger, such as finding better weapons or getting stat boosts from defeated bosses, which can have similar effects to leveling up just in a single stat. Leveling up not only increases your overall stats, but it also lets you wield more rare weapons. If you’reusing a weapon of a rarity you haven’t mastered, you won’t deal as much damage with it, making it much less effective.
