Adventurer

A balanced experience. Combat is fair but requires focus. Mistakes are punished, but recovery is possible. Designed for experienced players.

Veteran

A step up in difficulty. Enemies hit harder and show less mercy. Every resource counts. For those who seek a serious challenge.

Survival Mode

When survival mode is enabled, you cansave only at bonfires, and death ends the game. Recommended only for the most hardcore players. This will not be a balanced experience. This will be a painful experience.

Story Focus and Survival Mode only become available when you choose Explorer and Veteran difficulty, respectively.

How to Change Difficulty in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon

Players can change the difficulty anytime they want by going into Options. The difficulty slider can be found at the top of the Game tab.

What Changes in Each Difficulty?

The biggest difference you’ll notice when you move to a higher difficulty inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalonis that enemies take less damage and hit a lot harder. This makes each combat encounter more punishing. You’ll need to learn how to parry and dodge effectively without draining your stamina.For mage builds, mana management also becomes extremely important.

You’ll also need to keep potions and food ready before each battle to heal up during fights. Your weapons and armor need to be upgraded regularly to account for the extra health of enemies.
