Cyberpunk 2077is one of the best open-world RPGs players can get their hands on. CD Projekt Red lets fans enjoy a fun, engaging, open-world title that is full of things to do, but one that’s inhabited by some truly evil and sinister people.
One of the best parts of this title isthe many compelling charactersthat fans can interact with. Some of these characters stand in V’s way and can make for compelling antagonists with whom fans will have a great time interacting.
8Sandayu Oda
Hanako’s Personal Bodyguard, Who Makes For An Intense Boss Fight
Oda is Hanako Arasaka’s personal bodyguard whom players encounter during a cinematic mission where they attempt to get this powerful figure’s attention, along with Takemura. During the parade, V will parkour around the surroundings and wreak havoc before eventually meeting this bladed boss.
He makes for an intimidating presence and canslice players to ribbonsif they aren’t prepared to deal with his relentless assault. If players decide to spare him, then they can even interact with him later down the line if they choose to align with Hanako during the ending, but what makes Oda a villain is how brainwashed he is by his loyalties to Arasaka, and nothing else.
7Royce, AKA Simon Randall
Makes A Massive Impact With A Brief Appearance
The Maelstrom gang is the focus ofan early-game missionwhere V and Jackie make a deal with this unhinged gang. The leader, Royce, is one of the most intimidating-looking characters in the game, who shows just how extreme certain cybernetic augmentations have become in Night City.
Depending on how V handles the situation, they can either talk Royce down or engage in a shootout where this man becomes collateral damage. Either way, the impact Royce has despite his minor presence in the game shows just how impactful the first few hours ofCyberpunk 2077are, and Royce’s impatience, brutal attitude, and imposing size make him a villain to remember.
6Dexter DeShawn
A Fixer Who Backstabs V After The Arasaka Heist Goes South
Dexter DeShawn is one of the biggest fixers in Night City, and V’s gang dreams about getting rich after partnering with him for one ambitious gig. However, things go south during the Arasaka Heist, and Dexter shoots V to get the heat off him.
Unbeknownst to him, Takemura followed his actions and ended up executing him after finding V’s corpse. His time as a villain was short-lived, but Dexter is still a memorable character who introduces players tothe work that fixers perform in Night City, and shows V that the quiet life isn’t possible, just the blaze of glory.
5Yorinobu Arasaka
Tries To Take Over The Arasaka Throne And Does A Poor Job At It
Yorinobu Arasaka is one of the most conniving and lecherous characters inCyberpunk 2077. He goes behind his father’s back and initiates a coup to gain control of the company, killing his very flesh and blood in the process.
While he fades in the background later on, his presence can be felt throughout the game’s series of events. If players decide to align with Hanako, then a pitifulYorinobu will seek forgiveness from his sister, realizing that he’ll just become a puppet governed by Saburo Arasaka’s engram. Regicide might be the goal of this Arasaka, but a total waste of power is what awaits him at the finish line.
4Woodman, AKA Oswald Forrest
One Of The Most Heinous And Despicable Characters In The Series
Woodman is one of the most hateable characters inCyberpunk 2077. This character is a despicable human who exploited Evelyn for his personal gain before promptly discarding her after she was of no use. A man who uses Dolls for his financial gain and throws them away like they’re plastic, Woodman has no regard for human life.
Players will relish the idea of killing this horrendous fiend, although players can choose to spare him if they wish. That being said, most people would agree that letting him go is very hard, since all they want to do is cave his skull in after hearing what he did to Evelyn.
3Adam Smasher
An Intimidating Cybernetic Monster Who’s No Joke
Adam Smasher is one of the most accomplished mercs in Night City, who is augmented to kingdom come. The braindance that introduces this character is frightening, with V feeling Evelyn’s fear spike as this man passes a crude comment.
He may not be the toughest boss in the game, but his intimidating presence, coupled withhis actions inEdgerunners, make him one of the most iconic antagonists in the series, since this is a cyberpsycho who loves the thrill of the fight.
2Kurt Hansen
The Leader Of Dogtown’s BARGHEST Faction
Phantom Libertywastes no time in introducing one of the better antagonists in the series, with Kurt Hansen and his BARGHEST cronies causing no end of problems for V. During their adventures in Dogtown, they will encounter this man more often than not.
The hold he has over this lawless district makes it clear that messing with him can lead to a bad time. Given his no-nonsense personality, it’s easy to see why most players will be intimidated by this antagonist inPhantom Liberty.
1Saburo Arasaka
The Patriarch Of The Arasaka Clan Didn’t Fade Away Even After His Demise
Saburo Arasaka is the patriarch of this family, who is killed by his son in cold blood, but even that wasn’t enough to stop him. Saburo had countermeasures set for everything, including his assassination.
The man’s presence is so strong that even his engram could force the shareholders into submission, who had no problems going against Yorinobu after seeing that their previous boss was still alive in a digital form. This aura is what helps Saburo stand out as one of the strongest characters in Night City.
