Barbariansmake for terrific frontline fighters inBaldur’s Gate 3. They’re naturally durable, and they can deal tons of damage. However, when it comes to finding armor to wear, Barbarians might find a bit of trouble given the nature of the class and the limited selection of stuff early in the game.

Barbarians benefit most from wearing no armor at all. However, this doesn’t mean they should charge into battle naked. There are several pieces of clothing and accessories inBaldur’s Gate 3that can make the lives of Barbarians much less painful.

BG3 Goblin Camp East

While getting extra AC is good for Barbarians, they generally don’t need it as much as others thanks to the damage reduction provided by Rage, so don’t worry if your AC seems low.

This ringincreases the damage dealt by thrown weapons/objectswhen worn. It’s a simple yet effective piece of jewelry that’s perfect for Berserkeror Giant Barbarian builds. To get it, just head over to the Emerald Grove and buy it from Aron, the merchant near the grove’s entrance. If you’re going for a Throwing build, pair this with the Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo, which you may get bysaving Baelen in the Underdark.

There aren’t as manygood options to find in Act 2, but the ones that are available can carry players all the way to the end of the game (unless they choose to pick up something else).

Once you reach Last Light Inn, you can speak with theQuartermaster near the bridgeand purchase the Mighty Cloth from her. This piece of clothing gives its wearer a number of bonuses:

Cloak of Protection

From the same Quartermaster that sells the Mighty Cloth, you can also buy the Cloak of Protection, which is a sweet and simple piece of clothing that gives+1 to your Armour Class and Saving Throws.

Enraging Heart Garb

The Bugbear merchant in the first floor of Moonrise Towers sells the Enraging Heart Garb, which makes Barbariansgain Wrath for every turn that they are Raging. Additionally, wearers will get +2 to Constitution as long as this stat isn’t already at 20.

This is basically a better version of Bloodguzzler’s Garb, as it does not require you to get hit. With Enraging Heart equipped, you’ll be able to stack AC from other sources and still benefit from the Wrath buff.
