6Use The Board To Your Advantage

The Edge of the Map is Your Friend

Theenvironment is ever-changinginTMNT: Tactical Takedown, and this is something you can actually use to your advantage. When it comes to the more durable enemies, in particular, you can save your Action Points by being strategic with your surroundings.

There are two game situations in particular where the environment can give you the upper hand. The first of these is when you see a red zone, which indicates that the marked tiles will disappear on the next turn. If you can anticipate this happening, drawing enemies into this area and getting yourself out will thin out enemy numbers. Additionally, any enemies standing on the edge, including tanks, can be dispatched in one movement by using an ability that pushes them a space.

Any enemies that disappear into a red zone won’t count as a KO, so don’t do this if you’re trying to rack up a combo.

5Be Aggressive With Enemies

Perform Some Crowd Control

Each turn, more enemies will appear at random spots on the map, and the ones that are already there won’t be going anywhere. Your enemy numbers will only increase, sothe best strategy you’re able to employis to try and pick them off as quickly as you can.

Depending on the level you’re in, you will find that there are particular parts of the environment that you can use to turn the tide of the fight in your favor. Be on the lookout for features like poisoned water, oncoming cars, or tiles full of trash, as a well-timed attack or strategy can be devastating to your opponents.

4Prioritize Combos

Get Into An Offensive Flow

Additional abilities and music are available to purchase as you progress through the game, but you’ll need to have enough currency on hand to buy them. You can purchase these extras with Shells, which are earned by completing missions.

Your performance in each level will determine how many Shells you earn upon completion of each stage, so you’re able to maximize your income by avoiding losing any lives and racking up combos. Mix up yourabilities and team-up skillsto continue to string together attacks, and use the various hazards around you to your advantage.

3Manage Distance

Get In & Get Out

A successful strategy inTMNT: Tactical Takedownis two-pronged -you need to be sharp both offensively and defensively. The best thing you can do to keep your lives intact is to maintain distance, so it’s important to keep an eye on your Action Points, and use them to get out of harm’s way before the end of your turn.

If it’s not possible to get out of the way completely, you should aim for the least damaging tile to end your turn. You can find out which enemies will be close enough to attack you by hovering your cursor over the tile you want to move to, as there will be a transparent trail to the adjacent square that they can reach. If you’ve got enemies within range, check if you have any abilities or team skills you can use to keep them in place for that turn.

As you complete levels, more skills will be made available for you to purchase and equip oneach of the four turtles. So, the more you play, the more fine-tuning you can do to each brother’s loadout until you’ve optimized it to your playstyle.

This doesn’t just apply to the standard skills you spend your Action Points on each turn, but also the team assist skills you can use a few times throughout a level, depending on how much damage you’re dishing out. So, whether it’s tweaking your Donatello skillset or applying your favorite team action to everyone, there is a surprising amount of depth to what you can do inTactical Takedown.

1Watch The Turn Counter

It Can Be An Advantage or Limitation

In addition to the ever-changing structure of the board, players will also notice that levels progress according to the number of turns remaining in the stage. This counter won’t always be visible, particularly when there are still additional areas to uncover first, but it will let you know how much time you’ve got left to complete the level.

Depending on whether you’re trying to amass combos or simply survivea crowd of Foot Clan soldiers, the turn counter can work to your advantage or disadvantage. If you’re trying to KO as many enemies as possible, then this will give you an idea of how aggressive you need to be. If you’re just trying to make it to the end, then this will tell you how long you need to dodge, duck, and weave their attacks for.
