TheBattlefieldfranchise is in a pretty weird spot right now. The last entry in the series,Battlefield 2042, was nothing short of a disaster at launch, and it has never really made a full recovery since then. The nextBattlefieldinstallment, meanwhile, doesn’t even have an official name yet, but footage of it has already been leaked online. Considering the poor state thatBattlefieldis currently in, it’s safe to say that series developer DICE has its work cut out for it withBattlefield 6, or whatever the game ends up being called. Luckily, the franchise’s next entry is looking pretty promising so far.
In the last few months, EA has been holding closed playtests for the nextBattlefieldgame in North America and Europe. Although participants are technically not supposed to comment on their experience with the game, many have expressed positive opinions about it so far.Battlefield6seems to retain a lot of the features that made the earlier installments in the franchise so beloved, such as destructible environments, small-scale multiplayer matches, and a modern-day setting. Unfortunately, the game isn’t going to be released anytime soon, but there are at least a couple of movies and shows related to it that fans may want to check out in the meantime.
