Atomfalldeveloper Rebellion Developments has recently released Update 1.011 (also known as Version 1.11) for the post-apocalyptic shooter. The newAtomfallupdate comes on the heels of the recent “Wicked Isle” story expansion, fixing some bugs in the base game and quite a few in the DLC.

Released back in March,Atomfallis a post-apocalyptic FPS set in the Northern English countryside. With strongFalloutvibes and complex investigations during missions,Atomfallquickly became Rebellion’s most successful launch, surpassing 2 million players in a month. Now, Rebellion has releasedAtomfall’s latest update, Version 1.011 for current-gen consoles, and 1.11 for last-gen gamers. The update is primarily comprised of fixes to several areas of the game, including general corrections to subtitles, audio, and menus. Also, it fixes some location-specific problems, such as a keycard becoming stuck at the entrance of the Interchange in Skethermoor, and a specific NPC turning hostile without any reason in Casterfell Woods. Most of the fixes, however, are related to Midsummer Island, added in therecentAtomfall: Wicked IsleDLC. The area received almost a dozen fixes, and should work better after the patch.

As expected, this patch was more concerned with bug-fixing than adding more features toAtomfall.PreviousAtomfallupdates added more quality-of-life improvements, for example, but it’s fair to say thatAtomfallis generally in a pretty stable state at the moment, so it makes sense that Rebellion is focusing on fixing the remaining bugs, especially in the new DLC.

At the moment, it’s not known ifAtomfallwill get a sequel, but considering how successful the game was considered to be by its creators, it would not be surprising. In fact,Rebellion Developments even hinted at a potentialAtomfallsequelback in April. At the time, the developers commented on the risks of doing something different with the new release, but confirmed thatAtomfallproved to be in the list of games that deserve additional content. It was not clear, however, whether the developers were just mentioning the then-unannounced “Wicked Isle” DLC at the time, or if there were any solid plans for a sequel. In any case,Atomfallfans should wait for an official announcement before getting too excited about more adventures in the series’ post-apocalyptic England.
