Ben Stiller Is Reportedly Interested In Directing A Twilight Zone Movie
According to Jeff Sneider.com (viaThe Insneider),Ben Stiller is reportedly directing a newThe Twilight Zonemovie. This film is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and has been in the works for over a decade.
As it turns out, thisTwilight Zonemovie has a lengthy history. As noted by Sneider, DiCaprio is producing the movie via his company Appian Way. In 2008, according toThe Hollywood Reporter,Appian Way and Warner Bros. were interested in hearing story pitches. In 2011,Matt Reeves was brought on as director. That didn’t work out, and then Anthony Peckham was going to write the screenplay. Then, in 2013,VarietythatWarner Bros.was talking to Joseph Kosinski about directing it, and Aron Eli Coleite was attached as a writer. Before Christine Lavaf was hired as a writer in 2017, Joby Harold and Rand Ravich worked on drafts of the movie.
While manyThe Batmanfans would have been pleased to see Reeves directThe Twilight Zone,it’s also interesting to imagine Ben Stiller behind the camera. Besides his successful acting career, he’s best known for his work as an executive producer and director on the hit AppleTV+ seriesSeverance, which could have spinoffs and a video game. He has also produced countless movies, including many that he starred in, includingZoolander.
At the time of this writing,it’s unclear what the main storyline of theTwilight Zonemovie would be, or if it would have a stand-alone plot or a series of interconnected tales. It would be fun to see some of the most well-known episodes brought to life, including"Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” a popular episode starring William Shatner as a man terrified of a monster on a plane.
