How Does Ranked Work In Rematch?

Currently, ranked inRematchis only for 5 vs 5 games, but if the game proves popular, then the future could see 3 vs 3 and 4 vs 4 ranked modes with their own ladders.

Theusual rules of the game apply, but players have even more reasons not to leave the game halfway through. If a player disconnects, theycan thankfully reconnect and still earn RPif they win.

Placement Games For Ranked

To begin their ranked journey, players will need tocomplete 5 placement gamesbefore they are assigned a rank. The outcome of these games helps to determine a player’s starting rank.

While a player’sindividual performance does not seem to affect ranked gainslater on, it couldpossibly impact these placement games, as some premades have reported receiving different ranks. Another explanationcould be unranked MMR affecting rank placement. In other words, it’s likely that a player’s win rate in their unranked games before beginning ranked will affect where they are placed.

Ranking Up & Down

After being assigned a rank, players will thengain or lose RP each game, depending on whether theywin or lose. These gains do not appear to be affected by personal performance.

For example, players seem togain 20 RP for winsandlose around 17 or 18 RP for losses. This may change slightly if players end up with very good or bad MMRs.

Demotions & Promotions

If players have just 5 RP in their current division, they will only lose 5 RP and go down to 0 RP. Losing on 0 RP will cause players to demote. While you can be demoted from divisions, some players are reporting that theyseem to be safe from being demoted to lower leagues. For example, a player in Silver cannot go down to Bronze. However, this may just take a number of losses, and players canexpect to demote from leagues at high ranks.

As for goingup a division, for example, from Silver 2 to Silver 1, the RP should carry over.
