InThe Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, all Heart Pieces can only be found by exploring the world andinteracting with content outside of the main story. You must acquire four Pieces of Heart to increase your Hearts inWind Waker, and because there is a total of 44 Heart Pieces to find, you can gain an additional 11 Hearts if you find every Heart Piece inWind Waker.

All Minigame Heart Pieces In Wind Waker
Killer Bee Hide and Seek
To get the Killer Bee Hide and Seek Heart Piece,Wind Wakerplayers mustfind all four of the Killer Bees' hiding placesin their hide-and-seek challenge. Talk to Mrs. Marie to begin this minigame, which also unlocks the ability to gift Joy Pendants and eventually earn the Cabana Deed, which is required to progress later in the game.
Sinking Ships Minigame
To get the Sinking Ships minigame Heart Piece,Wind Wakerplayers must find all three ships in the Sinking Ships minigame before they run out of cannonballs. Each attempt costs 10 Rupees, and if you are successful, you’ll get a Piece of Heart.
If you beat the record of 20, you also get a Treasure Chart.
Post Sorting Minigame
To get the Post Sorting Heart Piece,Wind Wakerplayers must successfully sort 25 letters in the Mail Sorting minigame on Dragon Roost Island. You will be asked to mail a special letter, and will receive a Piece of Heart after some time in-game.
Hit Orca 500x Minigame
To get Orca’s Heart Piece,Wind Wakerplayers must return to the mainland of Outset Island after getting Nayru’s Pearl, then initiate Orca’s swordsman challenge. you’re able to only do thisafter getting the Hero’s Swordand returning to Orca later on.
Carefully dodge his attacks and time your own to hit him 500x before you are hit three times, and he will reward you with a Piece of Heart.
Barrel Shooting Minigame
To get the cannon minigame Heart Piece,Wind Wakerplayers must sail to C-2 and speak with Salvatore. You must sink 10 ships before time runs out to get this Piece of Heart, and each attempt costs 50 Rupees.
Auction House Minigame
To get the Auction House Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must go to the Auction House at night and win a handful of auctions. Eventually, a Piece of Heart will be the reward. Save up a lot of Rupees and learn the Song of Passing to win more auctions faster.
Flying Minigame Contest
To get the Flying minigame Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must upgrade their Magic Meter, then go to tile G-2 to take part in the Bird-Man Contest. Set the direction of the wind, then use the Deku Leaf, your upgraded Magic meter, and clever use of the tornadoes on the course to fly to the goal.

Found in a chest deep in an optional pathway that can be accessed after cutting down the giant flower with your Boomerang

Found in a chest that is revealed after you defeat all of the hand enemies in a room in the basement of the dungeon
Beat the Sinking Ships minigame record (less than 20 cannonballs)

Play the Wind’s Requiem songin a room on the second floor with a symbol on the ground, then defeat the Armor enemies that awaken

Talk to the crestfallen man on the stairs near Zunari’s shop until he asks you to show him a picture of the moon. Take a picture with the Picto Box, then show it to him.
Treasure Chart #33
Talk to the woman wearing an apron with an orange vest, then take a picture of her with the Deluxe Picto Box. Talk to her again to get this Treasure Chart.
Treasure Chart #38
Must successfully win an Auction with this Treasure Chart up for grabs.
Treasure Chart #46
Pawprint Isle
Use the Hookshot after arriving near Pawprint Isle to grapple onto the island. Aim for one of the palm trees. Drop into a hole to enter a cavern with a chest containing this Treasure Chart.
Quest & Gift Reward Heart Pieces
Gift 20x Golden Feathers
To get the Golden Feathers Heart Piece,Wind Waker playersmust find 20x Golden Feathersand gift them to Hoskit, a guard, in Dragon Roost Island’s main hall. You will receive a letter in the mail the following day, which contains a Piece of Heart.
Rito Chieftain’s Letter
To get the Rito Chieftain’s Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must simply complete the Forbidden Woods dungeon then check the mail right next to the King of Red Lions before leaving Forest Haven.
Deluxe Picto Box Photo
To get the Deluxe Picto Box Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must first get the Deluxe Picto Box by upgrading the regular Picto Box with a Firefly from Forest Haven. Take a photo of the woman wearing orange with her arms crossed, then show her the picture.
You’ll get Treasure Chart 33, but that’s not the end – talk to her again and she will ask you to take another photo and show it to a man wearing a green striped shirt, the NPC who often talks about taking long walks around the island. Take her picture, show it to the man in green, then go to the coffee shop after a day has passed and talk to the woman in orange again to get a Piece of Heart.
Zunari’s Trading Quest
To get the Zunari’s Trading Quest Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must talk to Zunari (the Sail merchant) on Windfall Island after acquiring the Delivery Bag. This will initiate a Great-Sea spaning trading quest not unlike that found inLink’s Awakening. Complete thisWind Wakertrading sequence, and you will be rewarded with a Piece of Heart.
Joy Pedestals On Windfall Island
To get the Windfall Island plants Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must start Zunari’s Trading Quest, then fill all 14 empty Joy Pedestal sockets on Windfall Island with the items you acquire during this quest sequence.
Withered Deku Trees
To get the Withered Deku Trees Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must sail to eight locations across the Great Sea after using a Bottle to collect Forest Water. Forest Water only stays active for 20 minutes, so you mustuse the Ballad of Galesto get to all eight locations. Talk to the Great Deku Tree to learn the locations of all eight trees.
Maggie’s Letter
To get the Heart Piece from Maggie,Wind Waker players must first rescue the young girls from the Forsaken Fortress then return to Windfall Island and enter the top floor of the Rich Man’s House (the Auction House). Talk to Maggie, deliver her letter, then wait for the reply and return to Maggie.
Other Heart Piece Locations In The Wind Waker
Forsaken Fortress
To get the Forsaken Fortress Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must step on a hidden switch behind some barrels below the Dungeon Map chest. This opens a nearby cell door with a chest that contains this Heart Piece.
To get the Pawprint Isle Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must lnd on the island, disembark, then crawl inside a hole that leads to a dungeon filled with ChuChus. Defeat all enemies, and you will find a chest containing a Piece of Heart.
Five-Star Isles
To get the Five-Star Isles Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must find a submarine to the south of the island. Enter it and defeat all enemies inside to reveal a chest that contains this Piece of Heart.
Angular Isles
To get the Angular Isles Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must sail to this location on tile E-7 and use th Push and Pull actions on the blocky terrain to shift each cube and create a way up to the chest.
Headstone Island
To get the Headstone Island Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must get the Bait Bag and purchase a Hyoi Pear from Beedle, then call a seagull on Headstone Island. Fly to the very top of the island and pick up the Piece of Heart from the peak while controlling the seagull.
Needle Rock Isle
To get the Needle Rock Isle Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must get the Bait Bag and purchase a Hyoi Pear, then sail to tile A-5. Land on the island and use the Hyoi Pear to take control of a seagull. Fly to the top of the island and run into the switch to extinguish a circle of flames around a chest that contains the piece of heart.
Greatfish Isle
To get the Greatfish Isle Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must use the Deku Leaf to fly onto a rocky outcropping with a chest on the northwest side of the island.
Six-Eye Reef
To get the Six-Eye Reef Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must find and enter a submarine off the coast of this island, then defeat all enemies inside to reveal a chest that contains a Piece of Heart. This is significantlyeasier if you get the Master Swordfirst.
Stone Watcher Island
To get the Stone Watcher Island Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must destroy three cannons below a wooden platform on the island with Bombs, then climb up the ladder and open the revealed chest to get a Piece of Heart.
Tingle Island Big Octo
To get the Tingle Island Big Octo Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must go to Tingle Island on tile C-3 and defeat the Big Octo there. You will find this beneath a flock of seagulls – aim for the Big Octo’s eyes with any of the items listed above to defeat it and earn a Piece of Heart.
Seven-Star Isles Big Octo
To get the Seven-Star Isles Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must sail to Seven-Star Isles on tile F-1 and defeat the Big Octo. This spawns beneath a flock of seagulls circling a spot on the ocean. Shoot out the Big Octo’s eyes with the Boomerang, Bombs, or Bow and you will be rewarded with a Piece of Heart.
Bomb Island
To get the Bomb Island Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must blow up the boulder blocking a cave and enter. Progress through this dungeon, activating switches with the dormant centipede enemies along the way, to reach a chest with this Piece of Heart.
Star Island
To get the Star Island Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must first acquire bombs, then use them to destroy boulders blocking a cave on the island. Defeat all enemies within to reveal a chest with a Piece of Heart.
Beedle’s Rock Spire Shop Ship
To get the Rock Spire Shop Ship Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must save up 950 Rupees and go to Beedle’s special store outside of Rock Spire on tile B-3. You must get the Bigger Wallet, which holds up to 1000 Rupees, to purchase this.
Rock Spire Isle
To get the Rock Spire Isle Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must blow up both of the enemy ships patrolling Rock Spire Isle, then dredge up their treasure with the Grappling Hook. One of the two chests should contain a Piece of Heart.
Secret Windmill Lighthouse Heart Piece
To get the secret Windmill Heart Piece,Wind Waker players must first acquire the Bow, then go to the top of Windfall Island and climb to the top of the windmill. You must use the Wind’s Requiem song to change the direction of the wind, use the Deku Leaf to make it to the top, then shoot a torch with the Bow to re-light the lighthouse at the top of the windmill.
Secret Island Near Windfall Island
To get the secret island Heart Piece on Windfall Island,Wind Waker players must first reveal the island by activating the lighthouse at the top of the Windmill in Windfall Island. Then, use the Deku Leaf (and adjust the direction of the wind) to glide to the newly-revealed island just next to the bomb shop and dock.
Outset Island Pig Digging
To get the Pig Heart Piece on Outset Island,Wind Waker players must first get the Power Bracelets by completing the Fire Mountain dungeon on tile F-3, which itself requires you to acquire the Ice Arrows.
Return to Outset Islandand pick up the gigantic pig at the top of the western side of town, and bring it across the bridge to the east side of town, and look for a particularly dark patch of dirt. Spread some Bait on this patch and watch as the giant pig digs up a Piece of Heart for Link!
