DeltaruneChapter 4 is one of the most lore-heavy parts of the game so far, and the Dark Sanctuaries that Kris and Susie explore during this chapter are filled with secrets like a donation fountain that dishes out special rewards for generous adventurers. There have been similar encounters in previousDeltarunechapters, but this fountain doesn’t let you claim any rewards until much later in Chapter 4.

There’s no way of knowing what you’ll get from the donation fountain, and some players might just end up ignoring it and saving their money for equipment and items. A nearby sign claims that you’ll be rewarded when you “pass to the other side,” but what does that mean exactly? It also mentions a “great donation,” so just how much do you need to toss into the fountain in the first place? Thankfully, there are simple answers for both of these questions.

You can only get one of these rewards, so the chest will contain the item from the highest donation bracket that you’ve reached. Again, you can only donate to the fountain in the first Dark Sanctuary of Chapter 4, so make sure you put in as much cash as you can before moving on.

Your reward will be waiting for you in thesecond Dark Sanctuary of Chapter 4, which you’ll visit shortly after returning to the church roughly halfway through the chapter. The second Dark Sanctuary is a mirrored version of the first, and since you’ve passed to the “other side,” the version of the fountain there will have a chest containing your donation reward.

A living NPC will replace the stone statue from the first Dark Sanctuary, but there’s no need to worry if you’ve donated some money. If you didn’t donate anything to the fountain the first time around, though, the NPC will be hostile and attack you on sight. It’s not a unique boss or anything, so you can use the usual tactics tospare and recruit them.
