According to reports fromDenver ABC affiliate KMGH-TV(and corroborated byIGN), a truck carrying nearly 3,000 Switch 2 consoles from Nintendo of America’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, to a GameStop store in Grapevine, Texas, had its cargo stolen somewhere along the way. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office stated on June 17 that the theft was discovered after the truck was parked at a Love’s Truck Stop in Bennett, Colorado. The driver said that he noticed during an inspection that someone had broken into the trailer and made off with several pallets of Switch 2 consoles, though he clarified he was unaware of what he was transporting until the theft was reported. The estimated value of the stolen Switch 2 consoles is approximately $1.4 million.

It is not clear where or when the Switch 2 console heist took place, or how many suspects were involved in pulling off this theft.
