Thelatest PlayStation State of Play eventincluded a007 First Lighttrailer that showcased the game’s stealth mechanics and explosive action.007 First Lightwill be an origin story that shows James Bond’s early days as he works to become a spy. The globe-trotting adventure will include a mix of allies and villains as 26-year-old Bond earns his 00 status. Familiar faces include M, Q, and Moneypenny, and there will also be brand-new characters created for the game. Those interested in007 First Lightcan look forward to it launching in 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch 2. But fans don’t have to wait that long to see more of it in action.

The event will feature007 First Lightalongside IO’sHitmanand Leslie Benzies' cinematic action gameMindsEye, which IO is publishing. Needless to say, James Bond fans and fans of IO’s work in general should definitely make it a point to tune in to the event on June 6.
It’s also been confirmed that a larger deep dive into007 First Light’s gameplay will take place at some point later this summer. A specific date for the deep dive wasn’t revealed, but it will definitely be interesting to see more of007 First Lightin action. The007 First Lightgameplay seen in the reveal trailer set the bar high, so one has to wonder how it will be topped.
Who is Playing James Bond in 007 First Light?
There are still many unanswered questions when it comes to007 First Light. Chief among these is who exactly is playingJames Bondin the new game. A theory I’ve seen online is that James Bond is played by Patrick Gibson, best known for playing the younger version of infamous serial killer Dexter Morgan in the prequel seriesDexter: Original Sin. The actor does resemble007 First Light’s James Bond, but again, there has been no confirmation as to who exactly is playing the character in the new game, and so fans should wait for an official announcement.
